How does labor-only moving work?
Labor-only moving focuses on the lifting, loading or unloading rather than a complete move with transportation. Best Choice Movers can work with your rental truck, trailer or portable container—and can bring a truck if you need one. Confirm the transportation arrangement when requesting your quote.
Choose loading, unloading or both
Loading help is useful when you have arranged a rental vehicle or container but need help carrying and positioning furniture and boxes. Unloading help gets belongings out of the vehicle or container and into your home. Tell us if you need both, and give the location for each part of the work.
If you also need transportation, say so upfront. Best Choice Movers can bring a truck for these jobs, but the truck arrangement and pricing must be discussed; it is not automatically included just because you selected loading and unloading.
Agree who handles each part
When you arrange your own rental or container, confirm its delivery or collection time, permitted parking location and rental terms with the provider. Clarify who drives, who returns the rental and how the unloading is coordinated. Do not assume a loading crew is also responsible for the journey.
Ask what equipment and protective materials will be needed and who supplies them. Mention unusually heavy, fragile or awkward items before the job is agreed. Packing materials are available from Best Choice Movers if you ask; packing and unpacking should be requested separately when needed.
Have the vehicle and access ready
Coordinate the crew’s start time with the vehicle or container being in place. Ask the property manager about parking, loading areas and moving windows before the day. Keep access clear and have boxes packed and sealed unless you have requested packing help.
- Truck, trailer or container type and size
- Loading, unloading or both, with the locations
- Furniture, approximate box count and special-handling items
- Stairs, elevator reservations and carrying distance
- Vehicle arrival time and property access window
- Whether you want us to bring a truck or supply packing materials
When a full move may be a better fit
If you want one moving arrangement covering pickup, transportation and delivery, ask about local residential or apartment moving instead. If your destination is out of state, discuss long-distance moving from Houston.
For labor-only help, the size of the load, access and whether a truck is needed affect the quote. Submit the details below so the scope and pricing can be discussed before booking.
How should I prepare for unloading only?
Give the vehicle or container type, arrival time and parking position, then list stairs and the distance to the entrance. Label boxes by destination room and decide where large furniture should go before it is carried inside. Keep walkways clear and personal essentials separate.
If you need unloading at one address after loading at another, explain how travel and crew timing will be coordinated. A request for lifting help does not settle who drives, who returns a rental or how a provider's schedule is handled.
What if my truck or container delivery changes?
Check delivery and collection windows with the rental or container provider before agreeing crew timing. Tell us promptly when those times change, and discuss what the change means for availability and the quote. Do not assume waiting or a return visit is included.
Confirm where the vehicle or container can park with your property manager and provider. Give access and parking restrictions upfront, rather than leaving the crew to discover a blocked or unavailable loading space.
